I Thank God

Posted on Jun 4th, 2006 by Kundan : The Golden One Kundan

I thank God for the beauty that is my life,

For the beautiful quilt that is my life,

For the tapestry weaved from so many different elements that is my life

I thank God for my brethren

With whom I share my life

For the beauty of their words,

For the wonder of their grace,

For the cuteness of their smiles,

For the kindness of their acts,

For the largeness of their hearts,

And for the sweet sounds of their joy!

I thank God

For the movement of flying birds,

For the play of sunlight on my camera,

For the greenness of the grass and fields,

For the tallness of trees,

For the wideness of the sweet blue sky

For the unique canvas painted daily, every sunset and sunrise, every day, totally new

And yet, still beautiful

I thank God not only for rewards that are my due,

But for problems that are my challenge.

I thank God for the dark roots of the past that helped me grow

Into the lovely blossom I am today.

I thank God for the crisis that is really an opportunity, the problem that is really the white rabbit leading to a new path and great glory!

I thank God for giving me this brain that helps me

Question everything, and thus allow my progress,

For the wonder of a questing heart that’s grateful but not complacent

I thank God for the everyday joys of my life –

The smile of a cute girl, radiant, so alive, so bright, basking in the glow of her feminine energy, in the flows of her self expressed so freely and so open to love,

The breath-taking beauty of a wonderful sunset,

The magical movements of nature at its most spectacular beauty,

The examples of Your Grace I encounter frequently,

The kindness of everyone I meet,

And the opportunity and challenge to practice love when meeting someone not so kind,

Even if it only means that all I do is

Silently pray for his healing and for the Holy Spirit to come rescue him from his pain,

Bathing his heart with a new light of majestic love

I thank God for sleep

For rest

That rejuvenates

And helps me pass the new day’s tests

And helps me enjoy the new day’s nest,

The new day’s wonder, the new day’s love, the new day’s stories, the new day’s beauty,

The new day’s joy!

I thank God for solitude,

For silence,

For stillness,

In the deep well of which,

I sense His Presence,

Feel His abundant joy,

And moved by His amazing love,

Helping me love,

Not just the form,

But through the form,

Until I reach

The Source

I thank God

for the fears

that caution me from rash action,

and for the knowledge that

fear is something to be learnt from,

and not suppressed nor sugar-talked into submission –

instead, learn, lean through your fears, and then move on!

Do it anyway!

I thank God for work,

Where I prove myself a Lover,

Bringing forth enchanting creations that will delight

Even those far away,

As if they were sent by their Beloved Himself

I thank God

For this gift of poetry I’ve been given,

For the wonder of words that hypnotize the heart into new heights of love and awe,

For the creativity of new ideas,

The great beauty of new images,

The flow of life in my dreams,

The inspiration of every single part of life,

And the ability to experience all this fully – all five senses working normally,

Everything in excellent condition!

I thank God

For the pain that enlarges my soul,

For the Chasm between joy and sorrow that is You,

For the Balance that helps me finally realize

That Joy is You,

That Sorrow is You,

And that only Love is eternal,

Only Love is real,

Only Love is worth Surrendering to,

And Thou Art Love Itself!

Oh such sweet words of Love and wisdom. How did my eyes reach this grace and beauty you have so generously given to all of us.

I am going to refer to this more than once. Your prayer of gratitude is profoundly inspiring to me.
